Ebook About "Kiss me. Just this once . . . please Walker."Those whispered words were my undoing . . .As the most hated player in baseball, I had two options: either clean up my image or pack my bags. Being traded wasn't an option which only meant one thing, I had to become compliant. That's how I found myself sharing a small bistro table with Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. Devastatingly beautiful, vastly intelligent, and incredibly cunning, she knows exactly how to handle my grumpy demeanor. It was supposed to be simple. Book some PR events, show up, smile for the camera, and be done. But one massive mistake on my end sends me into the trenches with Kate, forcing me to open up to her.Innocent glances turn into cordial encounters.Secret touches turn into tempting invitations. And dangerous nights alone turn into consuming desperation.I’ve never wanted a woman as much as I want her. And I know she wants me, but there’s a no fraternizing with the players rule. Neither of us can afford to lose our jobs, but we also can't seem to keep our hands off each other either.Book The Perfect Catch: A Forbidden Workplace Standalone Review :
Whenever I think that Meghan Quinn has written her best book she comes along with an even more amazing story to tell!! “The Perfect Catch” made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion, and made me wish the story could go on forever. On the surface, Walker is gruff, serious, and methodical. His life is all about baseball and mentally preparing himself for nine innings behind home plate. Many baseball fans believe that the catcher is the most important position on the team. Walker's expertise on reading his pitchers can make or break the outcome of the game. I loved everything about Walker, even his short fuse and his propensity for acting without thinking. He loves being in control and it is hard for him to contain his emotions -- which brings us to his relationship with Kate. Walker was ordered to clean up his image and he would now be taking orders from his new manager, Kate Chapman.Kate was persistent and organized with an in-your-face attitude as she presented Walker with a plethora of activities to take part in. Walker was mad that he had to prove to the public that he was likeable, and Kate had a sneaky way of pulling information out of him that he didn’t want to share with anyone. Kate turned out to be the woman that Walker never knew he needed and she appeared in his life when he was down in the count, fearing he would strike out. I felt Walker’s heartache and despair as if I was talking to him myself. He always seemed as if he was ready to explode and as he shared his life with Kate, I could feel the tension leaving his body as he realized that he had finally met someone who truly understood him.Walker struggled with how his life was changing and he wondered if somehow Kate could fit into his future. Was it naive of him to think he deserved happiness? Can he play baseball and be in love at the same time? Was it too much to ask to have the best of both worlds? You could have taken out 50-60 percent of this book without hindering the story line at all.Maybe it’s my “old age” but I found the constant “I want you but we can’t” bull shhh that went on for far too long to just be annoying.I’m annoyed even just thinking about it while trying to write this review- it just felt so childish to me.
